The Luxurious Barceló Funchal Oldtown Is Reborn with Vicaima Solutions

The company's interior doors are part of a unique architectural project that honors the authenticity of the island through the restoration of several 17th-century buildings.

Since its opening, the Barceló Funchal Oldtown has held a prime place in the hotel landscape of Madeira. It is the group's new five-star property in the region, with Vicaima solutions in the guest rooms and common areas.

After taking on the challenge of restoring six 17th-century buildings, which have kept their original façades and interior flagstones, the chain's second hotel on the island is now a fully renovated complex with high-quality solutions, in which the decor stands out, combining contemporary elements with elements symbolic of local architecture. Vicaima was chosen to equip the 111 rooms and common areas with a selection of interior panels and doors.

In the emblematic Barceló Funchal Oldtown, the company's solutions play a crucial role in creating a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment. The project incorporates three different Portaro® solutions - a set made up of a door, a frame and accessories in a single piece - each of which meets specific needs in an exemplary way.

Portaro® EI30 AC33dB stands out for fire protection of up to 30 minutes and acoustic insulation of 33 dB, thus contributing significantly to the safety and acoustic comfort of guests. This solution combines functionality and tranquility in a distinctive design.

In addition to safety, Portaro® EI30 reinforces the essential fire resistance while remaining consistent with the design of the entire hotel. Both options, EI30 and EI30 AC33dB, are certified by accredited international organizations, which guarantees compliance and quality.

The functionality of the rooms is further enhanced by the Portaro® Interior Sliding door, an appropriate choice that helps maximize space, expanding areas in a smart and versatile way.

The interior design of this luxury hotel stands out for its brightness, with light colors that visually enlarge the spaces and complement the hotel's superb panoramic views. Vicaima contributes significantly to this aesthetic, combining elegance and performance. The Dekordor® HD wood design, specially created for this project, covers all the doors, enhancing the hotel's sophistication. A distinctive touch is given to the room entrance doors with a Garlic Grey interior from the Dekordor® HD Colours range.

The wooden panels, applied in different areas, follow the same design as the exterior of the doors, thus ensuring a harmonious and refined aesthetic. This integrated approach by Vicaima underlines its commitment to creating environments that balance beauty and practicality, highlighting the hotel's unique identity.
