Vicaima was selected to equip the SonoLux Hotel, recently inaugurated in Montréal, Canada, by supplying technical solutions for the guest room entrances in this rehabilitation project of a historic building located on Saint-Jacques Street. Much more than a conventional hotel, this project, developed by the Épik Collection group, positions itself as an ?art hotel?, where the stay experience blends with artistic enjoyment.

The SonoLux Hotel is the result of an architectural intervention that aims to reconcile the preservation of the building's historic value with a contemporary approach to urban space. Designed to offer a stimulating travel experience, the hotel combines private rooms with 10 spaces dedicated to art exhibitions, a restaurant and the underground lounge Subterra.

As one of the leading European players in the development and production of interior doors, technical doors, door frames, wardrobes, panels and furniture components, Vicaima drew on its extensive experience in this project by supplying Portaro®, a solution that combines the door, the frame and the accessories in a single unit and that now equips the 36 rooms of the hotel.

In a space where art is a fundamental pillar of the experience and where the aim is to preserve an atmosphere conducive to contemplation, security, privacy and acoustic insulation are particularly important. For the guest room entrances of the SonoLux Hotel, the choice fell on the Portaro® FR20 AC44dB solution, which combines fire resistance of up to 20 minutes with acoustic insulation of up to 44 decibels.

This acoustic performance is particularly important in a hotel focused on the artistic experience, as it helps ensure that the tranquility of the exhibition space extends to the rooms, allowing guests to rest and enjoy the space in complete comfort. The solution has been tested and certified in accordance with the UL10B standard, thus meeting the strict safety requirements applicable to the North American market. To guarantee a flawless user experience, the system also includes high-quality factory-installed hardware. This care translates into smooth movement, enhanced security and durability that lasts for years.

In addition to their technical performance, the aesthetic integration of the doors into the hotel's interior design identity was thought out down to the smallest detail. The choice of Dekordor® 3D Honey Oak finish, a textured solution that stands out for its contemporary look and surface durability, brings a feeling of warmth and comfort to the spaces, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere that engages with the artistic and historic character of the building and establishes a harmonious transition between the exhibition spaces and the rooms.

In line with the growing worldwide interest in responsible construction, the solutions supplied are FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified, guaranteeing that the materials used come from responsibly managed forests.
