Resuinsa hospitality linen and textiles now GOTS certified

"At Resuinsa, we work to offer sustainable linen. That is why we have obtained the Global Textile Organic Standard (GOTS) certification, the international label that guarantees sustainability in the textile sector." It is one of the leading international standards that independently certifies that the cotton used comes from organic/ecological farming.
The GOTS standard is the world leader in the processing of textile items made from organic fibers, and includes ecological and social criteria for supervising the entire manufacturing chain. This certification defines globally recognized requirements to guarantee the organic quality of textile items, from the sourcing of the raw material to appropriate labeling. Organic farming makes optimal and sustainable use of local natural resources. Moreover, organic cotton is harvested by hand, and chemical dyes and brighteners are excluded from its processing into yarn.
Customers are thus assured that Resuinsa manufactures linen that is sustainable, ecologically and socially responsible. The GOTS certification covers all phases: processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling and distribution of textile items.
Among the environmental requirements, the GOTS certification provides for the elimination of products that are toxic or harmful to health. Accordingly, all chemical agents must be assessed and comply with the requirements in terms of toxicity and biodegradability. Critical inputs such as heavy metals or aromatic solvents are prohibited, as are synthetic finishes, azo dyes and plastisol and PVC printing methods. It also monitors the entire environmental policy and its processes surrounding the manufacture of textile items.
GOTS includes social criteria to ensure that companies comply with social criteria based on International Labour Organization (ILO) standards, which Resuinsa has implemented. It also states that management with clearly defined criteria must be implemented to ensure compliance. Likewise, technical quality parameters must be met, such as colorfastness to dry rubbing, perspiration, light and washing, and values for dimensional change after washing. Raw materials, intermediate and finished products, as well as accessories, must comply with strict limits on undesirable residues.
Let us recall that they have already obtained the STeP certification, which guarantees, among other aspects, sustainable production. It is the first company in the hospitality sector, and one of the few in other sectors, to have obtained the STeP certification. Through the OEKO-TEX® association, it guarantees international compatibility through standardized criteria that are constantly analyzed, assessed and thoroughly monitored.
Resuinsa therefore continues to commit resolutely to sustainability and the preservation of our planet, to doing its part for a better world, with a firm environmental and social commitment through our daily work and the obtaining of these certifications that attest to it.
