OKEENEA brings luxury hospitality and accessibility together

OKEENEA, the accessibility works expert, offers customized solutions tailored to the codes of luxury hospitality, to meet the expectations of a new clientele and transform the stay of people with disabilities.Luxury hotels aspire to offer the same level of service quality to all their guests, whatever their specific needs.

Accessibility is now an integral part of the equipment and customer service criteria. According to a study by ENAT (European Network for Accessible Tourism), accessibility concerns up to 60% of the population: elderly or disabled people, young children, and of course the relatives who accompany them!

From its two local branches in Lyon and Paris, OKEENEA supports major hotels towards a universal standard of welcome, with the utmost respect for the architecture and personality of each establishment. Accessibility equipment (handrails, stair nosings, tactile studs, signage, etc.) is integrated with style and elegance.

?Refined decor, elegance, well-being... that is all that comes to mind when we think of luxury hotels,? says Martin ROCHON, Vice President of OKEENEA. ?For us, it was therefore unthinkable to disfigure these architectural jewels with crude, standardized equipment. With our range of brass solutions, our wide choice of colors and materials, and our tailor-made approach, we strive instead to enhance them!?

All the discretion of a great house for hassle-free works
Accessibility works, whether securing a staircase, installing new signage suited to visually impaired people or an induction loop to communicate with hearing-impaired people, generally do not require the establishment to close.

But there is no question of disturbing guests' tranquility or disrupting the studious atmosphere of a seminar or business meeting. It is equally unthinkable for equipment to obstruct the way when a guest leaves their room! OKEENEA's teams therefore adapt to the demands of these exceptional venues thanks to meticulous, flexible organization that can handle any unforeseen event.

Martin ROCHON looks back on the accessibility works at the Marriott Champs-Elysées hotel: ?We started by classifying the interventions according to potential nuisances (noise, closure of the area, dust). Then we had to adapt to the schedule of meetings and events planned in the establishment. We therefore planned all the works a month in advance based on these two criteria.?

Precision work for perfectly integrated solutions
Just like the welcome and service of a luxury establishment, accessibility for disabled or reduced-mobility people is a matter of detail. In addition to mastering the regulations and practices related to accessibility equipment, OKEENEA's teams go the extra mile to follow the clean lines of a staircase or enhance the lobby decor. Custom bending of stair nosings, case-by-case cutting, painting, piece-by-piece anodizing... OKEENEA deploys all its technical expertise and know-how for a result that lives up to the demands of luxury.

Martin ROCHON recalls the words of Juliette PERON, director of the MGallery Carlton hotel in Lyon, at the end of the accessibility works: ?Although she was very anxious at the start of the project, she told us it was so well integrated that no one even thought about it anymore! It is a success we strive to repeat in every establishment we support.?
