NOMAD Hotels Dijon: the 3e eco-responsible hotel of the Oceania Hotels group

Oceania Hotels, the family-owned hotel group from Brittany, is continuing the development of its eco-responsible brand NOMAD Hotels with the opening of its 3ème hotel in Dijon. Following the openings of the first properties at Paris Roissy CDG and in Le Havre, NOMAD opened its third hotel on 7 May 2024, right next to the train station. It is also the group's second hotel in the capital of the Burgundy region, alongside the Oceania Le Jura 4*.

Founded by François Branellec in 2014 and now run by his children Gurvan Branellec and Rozenn Branellec Dumon, the NOMAD Hotels brand is innovating by standing out through an eco-responsible approach. From the construction of the buildings to the choice of partners, and including the technology provided in the rooms to raise guests' awareness of reducing their consumption, everything at NOMAD is designed with the environment in mind! After the opening of the first NOMAD hotel at Paris Roissy CDG in 2014, followed by Le Havre in 2015, the Oceania Hotels group is reaching a new milestone by opening its third NOMAD hotel, located at 30 rue des Perrières in Dijon. Enjoying a strategic location opposite the train station (less than 200 metres away!), this new hotel required approximately 18 months of construction work.

?This is a major milestone for the Oceania group. We took the time needed to open our third NOMAD hotel, in particular making sure to find the ideal location. We are committed to remaining a family-owned group that controls its development and the quality of its hotels. We also make sure that our brands, Oceania 3 and 4*, and NOMAD Hotels, each have a distinct identity and an extra soul specific to the group's DNA,? says Rozenn Branellec Dumon, Managing Director of the Oceania Hotels group.

For NOMAD Hotels, eco-responsibility is second nature
A team of twelve versatile employees with a particular sensitivity to ecology was recruited for the opening of the 3* hotel. NOMAD hotels now appeal to an ever wider clientele concerned with travelling responsibly. ?To my knowledge, we are the only hotel chain in the world to offer an ?eco-responsible’ rate to our guests when they book on the nomad-hotels.com website. This more attractive rate is offered to guests who choose to limit their energy and water consumption during their stay (no systematic change of towels and sheets, and no daily room cleaning…),? the Managing Director emphasises.

The passive-energy building is equipped with solar panels for hot water, heat pumps for heating, a rainwater recovery system supplying various water circuits, and shower heads in the rooms that save between 3 and 4 litres of water per shower without compromising guest comfort. ?All NOMAD hotels are new builds guaranteeing optimal thermal and acoustic comfort. They incorporate eco-designed materials and equipment from the design stage,? adds Rozenn Branellec Dumon.

NOMAD, a unique living space
The NOMAD lobby is a hybrid space, open to Dijon residents, hotel guests and other passing tourists: it is ideal for eating, relaxing, working, having a drink or getting together over a Sunday brunch.

Its design and decor highlight the use of natural or recycled materials: at NOMAD Hotel Dijon, the tables are made from recycled badminton shuttlecocks, and the armchairs and plant pots are made from nautical ropes and sails. All these elements blend harmoniously with soft tones, combining terracotta, yellow and green, to create an atmosphere that is both warm and soothing.

Living walls cover the exterior façade of the hotel, while a tree-lined terrace garden and numerous indoor plants bring a subtle touch of greenery, inviting nature into the various spaces.

A modular room that can be privatised is also available and can be adapted to guests' specific needs. Finally, for sports enthusiasts, the hotel is equipped with a 12,5-metre by 3 swimming lane and a fitness room with wooden hydraulic-resistance equipment.

NOMAD, a connected room
In the 105 rooms of the NOMAD Hotel in Dijon, a warm and soothing atmosphere emerges thanks to a bespoke layout by the design agency Part de Rêve and a choice of natural materials and colours. A tablet provides full control of the lighting, the video projector with its built-in Chromecast, and water consumption monitoring. For family stays or trips with friends, the hotel has 13 connecting rooms that can accommodate up to 5 people. These rooms are made up of 2 separate spaces, linked by a private airlock ensuring the parents' privacy and the children's safety.
