Nature comes indoors: a new real-wood solution suited to organic shapes

The new LIGNO® Acoustique Courbée panel variant now makes it possible to create organic shapes in real wood inside buildings. These sound-absorbing panels provide great comfort and a natural look of striking beauty.

In recent years, contemporary architecture has made greater use of organic shapes. Indoors, dynamic curves and rounded corners are replacing classic right angles and flat planes. Soft, flowing shapes come closer to nature. They give users a sense of security. New products are now coming onto the market and greatly simplify manufacturing processes. With its new real-wood panel variant LIGNO® Acoustique Courbée, Lignotrend gives designers slightly curved surfaces. This new flexible product offers a large, effective sound-absorbing surface.

Nature-inspired interior design

In this era of climate change, architects are increasingly concerned with sustainability. Sustainability has even become synonymous with beauty in most architectural projects. Designers are now using natural building materials in a formal language inspired by nature. Lignotrend has responded to this trend and developed an innovative product based on its LIGNO® Acoustique panels, launched on the market in 2004. Until now, there was no acoustic solution of flexible real-wood wall coverings suited to interiors with organic shapes.

Acoustic panels at last suited to curved surfaces

The new LIGNO® Acoustique Courbée variant now offers transverse flexibility. A structural modification of the elements allows use on slightly curved, concave or convex surfaces, with radii starting from 1000 millimetres. Just like LIGNO® Acoustique, the new Courbée variant is made up of several layers of natural real wood and wood-fibre acoustic absorbers. Its special structure is protected by a patent.

Real wood from the Black Forest for a healthy interior

The new acoustic panels are currently available in knot-free silver fir. Two profile variants are available: a regular joint profile with slats 20 mm wide, or an irregular ?natural? profile with slats 22 to 40 mm wide. The edges can optionally be given a chamfered finish. The panels are made from certified local Black Forest wood. The soft wood-fibre absorption strips are bonded with an adhesive that is impeccable from a building biology standpoint. These panels are therefore a completely healthy product for living spaces. Depending on use, the wood can be surface-treated for UV resistance or stained to match the design concept.

LIGNO® Acoustique Courbée combines elegant design with high acoustic efficiency. This new variant allows designers to bring their most creative ideas to life for nature-inspired interior spaces.
