Lignotrend acoustic panels at the Nuvola Lavazza staff restaurant

Lignotrend acoustic panels at the Nuvola Lavazza staff restaurant

The lunch break is a special moment, and the Italians would certainly be the last to say otherwise. The new staff restaurant of coffee producer Lavazza in Turin has chosen to offer a haven of calm for its culinary delights. Ligno Acoustic light acoustic panels create a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere at lunchtime. Made of real wood, they not only allow precisely designed partition surfaces that soundproof the room, but also adapt to the needs of catering businesses seeking a quiet environment. Finally, they meet high design standards.

The restaurant is establishing itself as the new urban hot spot
This new restaurant, designed by rgastudio (interior design) and CZA Cino Zucchi Architetti (architecture), has a capacity of 280 seats. It occupies the first two floors of the "La Centrale" building and the former Enel power plant, now converted into the management center of the Lavazza company. Located in the Aurora district of Turin, the "Nuvola Lavazza" (literally "Lavazza Cloud") is currently emerging as the new urban hot spot.

The new canteen is a dining area with a pleasant, bright design and an innovative concept. Employees can have their lunch break there together with friends or family members. Everyone is welcome in the cloud, including local residents and students from the nearby IAAD institute. A new experience of collective catering.

From the lobby on the ground floor, visitors reach the seating areas and the self-service islands on the first floor. From there, they can access more private and quieter areas located one floor higher.

Good interior acoustics across two floors
The clear layout of the interior spaces preserves the industrial character of the building, yet creates a pleasant, homely atmosphere thanks to the Ligno Acoustic light acoustic panels installed on the ceiling.

The noise from the two-story restaurant is reduced to a comfortable level. Thanks to the flexible wood-fiber acoustic absorbers integrated into the panels, the absorption effect is effective across a wide frequency range. The various structures tested achieve an absorption coefficient of up to 0.90, widely distributed across the relevant frequency range.

Lignotrend acoustic panels awarded the natureplus label
The real wood surfaces are made of knot-free white fir, whose texture shows through the whitish lacquer. Combined with understated furniture, they form a calm setting (including in terms of design) for relaxed breaks. Distinguished by the natureplus label, Lignotrend acoustic panels guarantee the highest quality of ecological construction. The product fits into the overall philosophy of the LEED-certified conversion, which aims to create green buildings that respect people and the environment.
