Lafont unveils its recycled Signature CSR chef jacket in a world première at Sirha Green

Lafont, a longtime partner of Sirha Green, a cult brand since 1844 and the French leader in professional clothing, is taking part in the second edition to reaffirm its commitment to a responsible approach and present its new 100% recycled, made-in-France catering and hospitality (CHR) models. Lafont creates the professional clothing of tomorrow with ethical, technical, stylish and comfortable products.
As a stakeholder in the Cepovett group's CSR policy, Lafont selects French fabrics made from responsible materials with a low carbon impact. The brand is aware of the environmental footprint of professional clothing throughout its life cycle and, at the same time, anticipates the gradual reduction of cotton use in professional textiles. Its design office focuses on alternative fabrics (organic cotton, fair-trade cotton and recycled polyester) and supports an experiment with French-grown linen fabric. Organic food, vegetarianism, short supply chains and energy-efficient technologies are all concerns that now sit at the table, in both the kitchen and the dining room. Attentive to these profound changes in behavior, Lafont places sustainable development and short supply chains at the heart of innovation by offering eco-fair models, without giving up functionality and style. This is why choosing local, responsible suppliers that guarantee traceable, recyclable and low-consumption solutions is an everyday requirement for Lafont.
After the first eco-responsible apron on the CHR market, the 406 apron in French linen polyester launched in 2018, Lafont is offering the ultra-light organic and recycled Signature CSR jacket, in cotton polyester (40% Recycled Polyester 37.5 / 30% Cotton / 30% Recycled Polyester), with a military-inspired design and stylistic details such as the officer collar, double-breasted buttoning and braiding. Designed in two versions, a men's cut and a women's cut, the Signature jacket reinterprets the elegance of the braided military jacket: a buttoned officer collar with a contrasting heather grey tab, a buttoned left shoulder tab with a contrasting heather grey loop, offset sleeve finishes and reversible buttoning.
Many features are built into this revolutionary jacket:
- Back center ease pleat,
- Pen pocket on the left sleeve,
- Sleeve hem that can be turned up 2 times and sleeves that can be rolled up above the elbow,
- Breathable eyelets under the arms,
- Adjustable bib apron that attaches directly to the jacket buttons or can also be used with its removable strap,
- Complementary half chef's apron to keep the look,
- Buttons made of bio-resin,
- Embroidery in recycled polyester thread,
- Blue/white/red Lafont 1844 embroidery on the right shoulder,
- Blue/white/red braid on the left side when worn,
- Option of a star embroidery on the left shoulder loop (a nod to Michelin stars),
- Option of adding embroidered badges on the right sleeve.
Lafont loves a job well done, which has enabled it to successfully span the eras. From the carpenter's overalls to protective clothing, the French brand has a perfect command of the constraints faced by professionals at work. By combining market listening and collective expertise, Lafont has been able for 174 years to offer products ahead of their time.
?Excellence in gastronomy is also reflected in clothing. That is why our R&D department develops product ranges that are closely aligned with professionals' needs, in terms of comfort, design and the technical performance of the fabric.?, explains Alexandra Avram, Sales and Marketing Director at Lafont.
