Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort Unveils Its Renewal

Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort, a Venetian Belle Époque masterpiece, is ready to reopen its illustrious doors and announces a number of developments.London & Regional Properties Group (L+R), an international hotel investment group with a portfolio of 12 000 hotel rooms, took over the hotel in December 2016 and put in place a refinancing plan in partnership with Coima SGR, an Italian and international real estate investment and asset management company.
The aim is to give this emblematic Venetian hotel a new lease of life through a renovation plan covering the entire property by 2020, while preserving its traditions and history.
The renovations
On 12 April, the first phase of the renovations will be completed with the official reopening of the hotel. Major renovation work has been carried out: the majestic Venetian-Byzantine-inspired façade has regained its former splendor, and the hotel's historic dome, which was ravaged by a fire in 2014, has been restored to its former glory.
Guests will discover a modernized venue with beautiful finishes.
In addition, La Taverna, the restaurant located on the sunny beach of the Lido, has also been renovated. From June, it will offer an all-new menu inspired by the delicate flavors of Italian cuisine.
The renovation plan will continue over the next two years with a new design for the luxurious rooms and the common areas. The hotel will also offer new dining services.
A new team
To support these transformations, Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort has built a new team of talented professionals recruited from prestigious establishments.
Alessio Lazazzera, appointed General Manager, joined Venice Lido in June 2017 after heading hotels of the St. Regis and Luxury Collection groups. His experience at the Hotel Quisisana in Capri, whose transformation he oversaw for 12 years, will be a considerable asset in delivering this new project.
Daniele Trombacco will work alongside him as Director of Sales and Marketing. He took up this position in February 2018. Daniele Trombacco began his career in hospitality in 2001, holding numerous responsibilities within the Hilton Hotels & Resorts hotel group until 2008.
He then served as Director of Sales and Marketing at numerous Italian establishments, including the Rome Cavalieri of the Waldorf Astoria Resort group in Rome, the Eden Roc Relais & Châteaux in Punta Cana and the Verdura Resort of Rocco Forte Hotels.
Their diverse experience in managing luxury resorts will allow Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort to be repositioned as a luxury seaside destination in one of the most glamorous destinations in northern Italy.
