Häfele Déco H23 handle collection: beauty you can feel

Furniture handles are a bit like fashion accessories: with a small gesture, they enhance the basics, trigger an emotion or express a style. With H23, Häfele is launching a multifaceted collection of handles that are highly functional and beautifully finished. It appeals to the senses and evokes past decades. Nevertheless, every handle is a contemporary project.

The new furniture handle collection was specially developed by Häfele and comprises 19 distinct model families for the kitchen, the bathroom and the living space. They are available exclusively from Häfele. In total, H23 thus includes 125 new items – including furniture handles and matching knobs with a soft, pleasant feel, or unique pieces with a raw industrial look. Icons in the modern classic style are also part of the range. The embossed knurled structures, the matt black or grey surfaces and the various warm and metallic tones create a sense of closeness and invite touch. They are grouped under evocative titles such as ?Living the style?, ?Clear, frank and so soft? or ?As if the handles were made of pebbles?. The raw materials used are zinc alloy or aluminium, and a centre-to-centre distance of up to 192 mm is possible.

Award-winning design – Special Prize of the German Design Award for the H2350 and H2355 models
Renowned designers such as Sascha Sartory of Cologne and Francesco Buzzo and Serena Lambertoni of Buzzo Lambertoni Design Studio in Milan took part in the design and contributed their ideas. Presented only recently as part of Häfele's participation in the interzum trade fair, the project by Buzzo and Lambertoni received a special mention at the German Design Award 2023. ?The handles are true jewels and precious objects that transform furnishings into icons and combine traditional craftsmanship with innovative design,? explains the design team. It adds: ?We were inspired by the image of a leaf whose stem is gracefully curved backwards. With a unique, distinctive and elegant character.?

Furniture handles have been part of Häfele's product range since the company's beginnings. ?For us, it is important to set new trends and to keep up with the market and with customers' wishes,? stresses Rico Marquardt, Director Product & Category Management at Häfele. That is why Häfele's gaze is always firmly turned towards the future.

Looking to the future – the furniture handles of tomorrow
As part of the events organised for its centenary, Häfele had invited two renowned designers to present their interpretation of a collection of furniture, door and window handles. Sylvia Leydecker, owner of the design office 100% interior, and Tilla Goldberg, Director Product Design at Ippolito Fleitz Group, completely rethought the handles – especially as regards the rooms. Sylvia Leydecker developed them as a digital element integrated into the building structure. In their collection, the body of the handle has a hollow for the thumb and is large enough to accommodate technical elements: digital displays or sensors can be integrated directly into the handles. In her project, Tilla Goldberg emphasised the haptic aspect of the handles and a manufacturing process based on ceramic 3D printing. All the elements of the collection can thus be designed with complete freedom, in terms of both shape and surface, to fit the overall interior concept. The company is now working on implementing the project step by step.
