Forbo expands its textile flooring range with Flotex advance & Flotex colour

Favoured by interior architects and designers alike, Forbo Flooring's Flotex flocked floor coverings combine unique aesthetic qualities with multiple technical benefits, resulting from their hybrid structure (textile on a PVC backing): walking comfort, resistance to heavy traffic, wear and stains, reduced slip risk, acoustic efficiency, ease of maintenance, durability...
Beyond these proven performances, the Flotex range constantly reinvents itself and stands out once again with a brand-new collection, Flotex advance, which offers the advantage of versatile installation: in tiles (tackified installation) but also in sheets, a format that now benefits from the innovative Flotex next construction, 100 % free-lay (and therefore without glue or adhesive), although glued installation of these sheets remains possible. Other distinctive features: its two designs, Latitude (13 colours), inspired by watermarks, and Code (26 colours), focused on typography, inject boldness into interior design projects, in a thoroughly contemporary spirit. Moreover, all Flotex advance references can be custom recoloured, an asset if a hotel or shop franchise specifies a particular colour code to be rolled out.
Finally, this new Flotex advance collection harmonises with another collection with character, Flotex colour, whose designs Calgary (with a cloud-like pattern), Metro (a ?woven effect? trompe-l'œil) and Penang (subtly striped) are ideally suited to many segments: offices, hospitality, leisure or educational spaces, care homes...
Flotex advance, a new design step towards free-lay installation
The Flotex advance collection, fully available from stock, offers two new designs that combine aesthetics and functionality. Whether it is the finely lined design of Latitude, inspired by watermarks, or the almost relief-like, typography-style design of Code, both create an atmosphere that is at once elegant and soothing in the spaces they adorn. Bold while remaining refined, the sense of well-being they provide is immediate and the interiors are resolutely contemporary in spirit.
Another decorative aspect: all Flotex advance patterns can benefit from a personalised recolouring service, in sheets from 50 m2 and in tiles from 200 m2. Simply provide your Pantone, NCS or RAL reference, and a sample is sent back to validate the result.
In line with its exclusive Fast Flooring concept, which favours installation without glue or adhesive, Forbo Flooring offers Flotex advance the possibility of 100 % free-lay installation in its sheet version, thanks to the Flotex next construction. Recall that this combines a second fibreglass reinforcement guaranteeing optimal rigidity and dimensional stability with the use of the jointing strip characteristic of Modul'up coverings, placed at the joints without perimeter fixing.
Of course, glued installation for sheets and tackified installation for tiles remain available, so as to meet all site configurations.
Flotex colour 2024 version
Flotex colour is renewed in 2024, offering a wide choice of colours and shades that allows endless creations. The cloud-patterned Calgary blends 17 natural shades inspired by minerals and plants. The Metro design, with its ?textile effect?, leaves a textured imprint on floors, either sparkling (citrus, lilac, lagoon, gold...) or understated (grey, carbon, concrete, anthracite, cocoa...). Finally, the tones of the Penang stripes vary at will, from grey (zinc) to blue (sapphire), through green (evergreen), all sharing the same sophistication.
These three signature designs, Calgary, Metro and Penang, with 61 distinct colours, are available in sheets (glued installation) and in tiles (tackified installation), all in stock.
Flotex in a few words...
Comfortable and durable: its short velour pile, made up of 80 million polyamide/m2 fibres implanted vertically by electrostatic flocking into a recycled PVC backing, provides warmth and walking comfort, and does not flatten, being extremely resistant to traffic (notably castor chairs).
Acoustic: with a declared impact sound reduction of 19 dB to 21 dB depending on the Flotex reference, for calm and soothing atmospheres.
Hygienic and easy to maintain: 100 % waterproof and rot-proof, it can be washed with water or steam, as dirt is trapped only on the surface, unlike carpets and other textile floors that are sometimes impossible to clean.
Slip-resistant: its R13 slip resistance makes it an ideal covering for schools, care homes, restaurants and even ski resorts.
Respectful of users' health: its dense surface traps allergens and fine dust, which can be removed with simple vacuuming. The only textile floor covering approved by the prestigious Allergy UK Seal of Approval™ of the British Allergy Foundation, it also has the best A+ health labelling rating for indoor air quality.
Supporting a protected environment: like many Forbo Flooring coverings, Flotex's composition includes recycled materials, up to 18 % in sheets (21,8 % for the Flotex next construction) and even up to 59 % in tiles.
