Bergan joins the ?BIOM ATTITUDE? program

With the growth of fair trade and organic products, the defense of short supply chains and responsible behavior, buyers are placing increasing importance on social and environmental indicators in their purchasing.
For several years now, Bergan has been committed to a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach, which has materialized through its membership of the ?BIOM Attitude? program, aimed at measuring and promoting our contribution to the local region.
What motivated you to join the BIOM Attitude approach?
?Since taking over the Bergan business in 2010, I have been committed to defending French textile expertise and the associated local skills. Keeping the workshops in the North of France was an obvious choice, and we have even expanded our premises since the beginning of the year.
Defending local expertise, calling on a network of regional subcontractors and partners, and favoring employment and resources in France all demonstrate our CSR commitment.
But revealing it and making it known is another matter. With the BIOM Attitude approach, we can now explain and demonstrate our commitment to local stakeholders, backed by indicators.? Dominique de CHECCHI - Managing Director of BERGAN
Rooted in the French economic fabric
Bergan, a French textile company dedicated to luxury players, has been firmly rooted in the French economic fabric for 25 years, and particularly in the region, with its workshops located in the Hauts-de-France.
We are convinced that Made in France means producing locally but also responsibly: promoting proximity, working with a network of local textile partners, and encouraging local economic and sustainable development initiatives are all examples of our commitment.
The BIOM approach allows us to demonstrate and explain our local and responsible purchasing policy, our social involvement and our efforts toward the environment. A social and accounting audit phase carried out by the independent agency BIOM Attitude (*) in September 2018 made it possible to analyze Bergan's good practices in terms of social, economic and environmental responsibility and to determine our ?% BIOM? indicator.
We are proud to announce that our economic performance in supporting employment and public services in France stands at 58%. This means that 58% of our spending is redistributed within the region.
Bergan's 58 % BIOM in a few figures:
Economic impact
• 49% of our revenue is distributed locally
• 66% of our revenue is distributed in FRANCE
Social impact
• 58% = our effectiveness in supporting employment and quality of life in France
• 100% of our jobs are in the regional territory in France.
Environmental impact
• 35% of suppliers are local (region)
• 74% of our suppliers are in FRANCE
