An iconic Menorca hotel integrates Vicaima solutions into its renovation and extension project

More modernity and more facilities: this is how the Catalonia Mirador des Port hotel reopens its doors on the idyllic island of Menorca after a renovation and expansion project in which Vicaima played a key role in the installation of the interior doors.

Now in the four-star category, the hotel has several common areas and 119 rooms in which the company's solutions will not go unnoticed, as the various possible applications of the Portaro® solution demonstrate - a set consisting of a door, a frame and accessories in a single piece. As a versatile system, it is available in a wide range of designs and finishes, making it one of Vicaima's most suitable solutions for elegant and distinctive decoration.

The various levels of fire performance and acoustic insulation of the products, certified by accredited international organisations, are now a reinforced guarantee for the project following the application of Portaro® EI60 and Portaro® EI30 AC41dB (double leaf) in the common areas, and of Portaro® EI30 AC44dB and Block EI30 AC40dB at the entrance to the rooms. These solutions combine fire protection and acoustic comfort to offer a safe and peaceful stay to all guests.

Harmoniously integrated into the project, the doors evoke the typical atmosphere of the port area of Maó, the historic part of the east of the city where the Catalonia Mirador des Port is located. As for the finishes, the use of Dekordor® HD White, enhanced in some applications with pantograph milling, fits perfectly with the seaside style, bringing a feeling of relaxation and serenity. This solution, which stands out as a highly resistant laminate, effectively meets the needs arising from the intensive use of the hotel's doors.

In addition to improving and extending the facilities, the unit has endeavoured to emphasise the sustainability of the buildings, all the more so as they are located on an island designated a World Biosphere Reserve - a distinction awarded to the region by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1993, in view of the high level of compatibility between the development of the region's natural resources and the environment.
