The new WASHLETs are a genuine innovation. In addition to the usual WASHLET functions, such as a hand-held shower for personal hygiene, a heated seat, a drying function and an air purifier, the new-generation WASHLETs feature two self-cleaning technologies: Actilight and ewater+

ewater+ technology
No fewer than two of TOTO's new WASHLETs are equipped with this technology: the NEOREST EW and the WASHLET SG from the new Square Geometry collection. This technology is both simple and effective. Before the toilet is used, as the lid opens via the sensor-operated control, the toilet bowl is sprayed with a fine mist. Combined with the effect of the very smooth CeFiOntect glaze, it prevents dirt from adhering. After the toilet has been used and the flush activated, the bowl is sprayed a second time with water treated by electrolysis. This water has antibacterial properties and actively combats dirt and limescale

deposits. The toilet bowl stays clean much longer. Water treated by electrolysis is completely environmentally friendly, contains no polluting substances and can be discharged into wastewater without any problem.

Actilight technology
When it comes to self-cleaning, Actilight technology goes even further. TOTO has equipped the WASHLET NEOREST AC with this technology. Here again, before use, the toilet bowl is sprayed with water. After use, it is sprayed with water again, this time treated by electrolysis (ewater+). Other components also play a role: the toilet bowl is not coated with the usual CeFiOnTect glaze but with a zircon coating. Aesthetically, the surface has changing pearlescent reflections.

Functionally, it stands out for its highly hydrophilic properties. This coating also contains titanium dioxide. On contact with sunlight, the coating triggers a photocatalytic process. TOTO has therefore integrated an ultraviolet lamp into the toilet lid, which switches on for a certain time as soon as the lid

closes. When the ultraviolet light comes into contact with the zircon coating, a process that dissolves all organic substances on the coating begins. The hydrophilic surface helps to wash them away. Bacteria, dirt, limescale and mold cannot form in the toilet bowl.

TOTO has tested the effectiveness of the ewater+ and Actilight technologies in numerous trials. Men's toilets equipped with Actilight technology were still impeccably clean after 5200 uses over a period of 10 months, without the use of a toilet brush.
