40 years of Trevira CS – the textile solution for a safe hotel room

Fire protection is an important topic for the hotel and catering industries. For 40 years now, hotels and restaurants have been equipped with Trevira CS flame-retardant fabrics. As a result, every area of application can be designed with Trevira CS fabrics. From sheer curtains to upholstery fabrics, from wall hangings to room dividers, from interior sun protection fabrics to acoustic textiles for conference rooms: Trevira CS fabrics are versatile and suitable for many textile uses and design options.
Through a chemical modification of the base material, the flame-retardant properties of Trevira CS textiles are firmly anchored in the fibre. This is an intrinsic function, so the flame-retardant property is not impaired by use, by repeated washing or by ageing. This is a great advantage over textiles that are impregnated afterwards: the finish applied to the surface is removed by use and by chemical cleaning, and optimal fire protection is no longer guaranteed. Unlike these subsequently impregnated textiles, textiles with a flame-retardant function anchored deep within the fibre offer long-term safety.
In addition to safety and design requirements, the topic of sustainability is gaining importance in the hotel industry. Polyester textiles do not have to take a back seat to natural-fibre textiles when it comes to sustainability. On the contrary, during production and use, they consume fewer resources than natural fibres, for example with regard to water use and agricultural land. They also offer many advantages throughout the life of the textile. The eco-friendly washing process (shorter washing cycles and drying times, as well as lower water consumption and less detergent use) is a real asset for the environment. In addition, intrinsically flame-retardant fibres and yarns are available in recycled versions or with recycled content.
Trevira CS fabrics welcome guests and ensure that they are surrounded by safe and refined fabrics.
